"INTRODUCTION
OF THE “INDIGENO”[1]:
THE FIRST RABOSO PIAVE SULFITES FREE
The name “Indigeno” says all, an austere,
tannic wine, with a pleasant acidity that distinguish the Piave’s
Raboso from other wines. Create a wine with these characteristics has
not been easy for CasaRoma, we started to grown and vinify this noble
grapes since 1984. The Piave’s Raboso was the preferred wine during
the Venice Republic going back in 1700, most of the lands at that time
was extensively producing Raboso grapes, Venetians skilled navigator
use to bring on board of their ships wine into barrels of wood able to
keep quality and taste almost stable without adding sulfites; and it
is just from the merge of tradition and technology that CasaRoma
accepted to bet on this new product. In 2003 we started to vinify the
“Indigeno” at the beginning the sulfites are produced naturally
and this process preserve the wine during it’s maturation.
After four years in barrel and one year in bottle
the product is ready to enjoy, thanks to the continuous care and well
structured processes.
"Indigeno", the name of the wine, was
chosen to represent the grape that was lost and now is back, ready to
occupy the market position it deserve. On the label the image
represents one is a paint of a famous artist: Serse Roma, born in this
area. The paint represents a "beam" of a "Bellussera",
that is the traditional system of vineyard cultivation almost
dismissed; but CasaRoma trust “Belussi” method and will keep use
it also to preserve tradition.
Casaroma is glad to invite who want to joint the
tasting of this new product on Sunday March 30th, from 10:00 AM
